Finances One

Equity - Ownership interest in a corporation or enterprise that represents a claim on the assets of the entity in proportion to the number and class of shares owned. 

The fiscal year begins on July 1st of the previous year and runs through June 30th of the designated year.

Guarantee - promise from one entity to assume responsibility for the payment of a financial obligation of another entity if such other entity fails to perform.  Guarantees include trade finance.

Loans where IFC is the lender of record and participations in the loans are sold to financial institutions.  

Loans - money advances to a client, to be repaid at a later date, usually with interest and/or fees.

Products designed to hedge the financial risk of IFC's client(s) using derivative products.
